Islesford

Islesford

Islesford or Little Cranberry Island has a thriving lobster fleet, a well-known dockside restaurant and art gallery, and a two-room schoolhouse named after the island's most famous longtime resident, Ashley Bryan, an internationally celebrated artist and illustrator. The fishermen's cooperative is one of the most active in the state, and the historical museum, part of Acadia National Park, is on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places.
