Vinalhaven is Maine’s largest island and supports the largest year round population (1,200 residents). With over 350 fishing boats, Vinalhaven is one of the largest lobster ports on the coast of Maine. In addition to a rich history in the granite industry, Vinalhaven has long attracted a internationally recognized artists beginning with Marsden Hartley in the 1930s.
