Great Cranberry

Great Cranberry's fishing fleet has diminished to only a few lobster boats in recent years and its school is inactive due to a lack of students as the island struggles to survive as a year-round community. Nevertheless, an active ladies’ aid society and an excellent local library have helped spark a revival that was further enhanced by new ownership and investment in the island's store — the prime gathering place on the waterfront where the mailboat lands.
